Mr. Ray Morris Payne, 81, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2020, at his residence in Southaven MS. A visitation will be Thursday, March 5, 2020 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home (626 Star Landing Road, East, Southaven, MS 38672) with a funeral service immediately following at 1:00 p.m. in our chapel. Interment will be at a Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens in Southaven, MS (290 Goodman Road, East). Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Ray Morris Payne was born on January 12, 1939 in Ashland, MS. Mr. Payne served our country honorably in the United State Air Force. He retired from Russann Lumber Company in Memphis, TN and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Southaven. His favorite job title was that of Gramps, he will truly be missed by his many friends and family.
Mr. Payne leaves behind his wife, Brenda Nesler Payne; sons, George Christopher (Lori) Payne of Southaven, MS; Michael Ray Payne of Jackson, TN; sisters, Betty Payne White of Horn Lake, MS; Nina Payne McCraw of Southaven; brother, James Richard (Pam) Payne of Horn Lake; granddaughters, Jamie (Casey) Weston of Dothan, AL; Sara Sims, Rae Payne and Riley Payne of Southaven; and great grandson, Waylon Weston of Dothan.
Mr. Payne was preceded in death by his parents, George Virginia and Leon Pearl Payne, and one sister, Georgia Payne Fowler.
In honor or Mr. Ray Morris Payne’s service to our country, the flag of the United States Air Force will be flown at Coleman Funeral Home on the day of the service.
