Gordie Lee Haire, Jr.

Gordie L. Haire, 73 of Pittsboro, Mississippi passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2020, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Calhoun in Calhoun City, Mississippi.

Born Tuesday, December 17, 1946 in Sarapeta, Mississippi, he was the son of the late Gordie Haire and the late Willie Clark Harie. He was the husband of Linda McCluskey Haire.

Mr. Gordie was a retired loan officer for the USDA Rual Development. He was a officer for the Lion's Club in 1964, served as a Scout Master and District Commissioner for The Boy Scouts of America, Mr. Gordie in his younger years was a national 4H Club Champion. He enjoyed raising Dachshund puppies, woodworking and gardening. One of the most important roles in Gordie's life was his dedication to Rocky Mount Church were he served on the Church Council and taught Sunday School.

Those left to cherish hi memory are his wife Linda Haire, sons, Jeffery L. Haire Special Friend Mitzi of Belden, step sons, John Buchanan (Donna) of Tupelo, and Zackery Buchanan of Bruce, sister, Pam McCammon (Bill) of Pittsboro, grand children, Caleb Haire, Cohen Hair, Cylee Haire, Andy Buchanan and Seth Buchanan.

A Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. James Taylor and Bro. Sam Yarbrough officiating. Interment will be in Rocky Mount Cemetery, Pittsboro, MS. Zackery Buchanan, Gary Collums, Michael Cook, Michael Haire, Sid Haire, Jerry McCammon, Chris McCormick, Craig McCormick, Mitch McGreger and J.T. Turner will serve as Pallbearers and Members of Rocky Mount Baptist Church will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, March 9, 2020, at Parker Memorial Funeral Home, 476 hwy 9n, Bruce, Mississippi.
