Rachel Kay Jackson Gilbert, 39, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2020 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle in Columbus. Born on October 10, 1980, she was a daughter of Harold Ray and Geneva Jo Wall Jackson. Growing up in Smithville, she was a 2001 graduate of Smithville High School later graduating from ICC with an associate’s degree in child development. She had also worked at Sonic for 8 years and delivered papers for the Daily Journal. On June 3, 2017 she married Henry Earl Gilbert and moved to Eupora with him to be a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing and spoiling her nieces and nephews whom she loved as her own. She recently enjoyed a trip to the beach where she enjoyed picking up sea shells and she loved her dog Bit.
Private family funeral services will be at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home in Amory. Burial will be in the Turon Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Henry Earl Gilbert, Jr. of Eupora; grandmother, Nola Mae Wall of Smithville; two sisters, Sherri Jane Foster (Charles) of Aberdeen and Kerri Jo Jackson Guyton of Amory; nieces and nephews, Callie Campbell, Kaylee Campbell, Karliegh Campbell, Aubree Hawkins, Katelynn Palmer (Aaron), Kimberly Moffett (Dustin), Michael Foster, Christopher Foster, and Cameron Foster; great nieces, Addilyn and Ella Moffett; special friends, Amanda King and Stacey Swindle; a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins, and a special aunt, Debra Pruitt; sister-in-law, Ashley Campbell (Brent) and father-in-law, Robert Hawkins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; nephew, Bobby Chance Foster; grandparents, James Horthy Wall, Evelyn Scott, Hollis and Icy Bell Jackson.
Pallbearers will be Cameron Foster, Michael Foster, and Christopher Foster.
