Jerry Gordan Brounson was born January 31, 1967 to Georgia Mae Brounson and the late Sam Harper of Byhalia, MS. He confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at St. Paul M. B. Church in Byhalia, MS. Jerry married the love of his life Ruthie Jean Rayford on March 9, 2002, and to this union three children were born. He graduated from Byhalia High School in 1988, and he was employed at Smith Transportation, where he was a supervisor and dedicated hard worker. Jerry passed away on March 31, 2020 surrounded by family at Saint Francis Hospital.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife; Ruthie Jean Brounson, five sons; Jerett Rayford (Keosha), Tyriek Rayford, Jerrel Brounson, Charles Albright (Marlley) of Byhalia, MS, Lakeith Faulkner of Holly Springs, MS, five grandchildren; Tykerah, Charles, Jr., C.J., Jerett Jr., Johnny and Ja’Miya, his loving mother; Georgia Mae Brounson, three sisters; Mary Porter (Bobby), Dorothy Jones, Brenda Dockery all of Byhalia, MS, eight brothers; James Brounson of Atlanta, GA, James Lee Brounson, Royce Brounson (Zena), Sammie Payne, Willie Brounson, Major Brounson (Bobbie), Kenneth Brounson (Cladish) of Southaven, MS, Eddie Brounson of Byhalia, MS, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other friends. To special friends; George Gardner and Courtney Jones.
He was preceded in death by his father; Sammie Harper. Throughout his years of life, Jerry’s high school hobbies were Basketball, Track and Softball. Basketball was his life, even throughout his adult life.
