Shelden “Sam” Lakeith Jefferson, 46 gained his wings, on Friday, March 20, 2020 at Methodist Olive Branch Hospital in Olive Branch, MS.
Shelden was born December 8, 1973 in Memphis, TN to the late Lee Willie Jefferson and Louis Evelyn Kinkle Jefferson.
He loved to sing. He sang with The Salem Harmonizers and The Kingdom Heirs.
Shelden is survived by his mother Louis E. Jefferson of Red Banks, MS, seven children: Spencer L. Newsome of Southaven, MS, James (Shontila) Echols, Shelven and Alexus Jefferson of Holly Springs, MS, Courtney (Tia) Jones of Memphis, TN, Jasmen K. Thompson of Chicago, IL, Lakeia S. Cole of Ashland, MS, four brothers: Sesley (Lois) and Vince E. Jefferson of Red Banks, MS, Wayne R. Jefferson of Byhalia, MS, Willie L. Jefferson of Holly Springs, MS, three sisters: Gail Scales of Red Banks, MS, Carolyn (Roosevelt) Hardaway of Holly Springs, MS, Stephanie Blake of Olive Branch, MS, eleven grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
