Cuvis Hall Tyler, 98, born and raised in Bruce passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family May 24, 2020.
She was born November 29, 1921 in Bruce to Robert (Bob) and Birdie Hall. She married Moody Brooks Tyler July 29, 1939. She worked at Glen Slacks before developing Mt. Comfort Water Association with Moody where they both retired after 24 years. She was an active member of Mt. Comfort Baptist Church.
Moody and Cuvis always had a garden, even after his passing Cuvis continued to grow tomatoes, string beans, cucumbers, okra and squash. Even until the day of her stroke she was in the garden. She loved to be outside and when not in her garden, she was growing flowers on her back porch.
Her funeral services were Monday May 25 at 11 a.m. at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce with Bro. Daniel Hathorne officiating the graveside service. Pallbearers were her grandsons and great grandsons Robert Tyler, Adam Tyler, Jonathan Tyler, Micah Tyler, Tyler Donovan, Phillip Beaty.
Survivors include her sons Gerald (Rosa) Tyler, Suwanee, GA, Donald (Ginger) Tyler, Bartlett, TN, Mike (Judy) Tyler Counce, TN, daughter in law Kay Tyler Bruce, MS. Two sisters Inis Roane and Elsie Mize and one brother Billy (Lou) Hall all of Bruce. Six grandchildren, Susan (Alex) Croxton, Steven (Tara) Tyler, Robert (Teena) Tyler, Sharissa (Barry) Beech, Adam (Natalie) Tyler, Alison (Phillip) Beaty and 12 great grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her husband of 74 years Moody Tyler, one sister Laudis Roane, one brother Bobby Hall, one son Paul Tyler, one grandson Alan Brooks Tyler
