Mrs. Roxie Sanders Grady, 77, transitioned on Sunday, June 7, 2020 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. She was born on April 18, 1943 in Oxford, MS, to the late Mr. Nathaniel Sanders and Mrs. Susan Sanders. She was a member of Philadelphia M.B. Church in Oxford, MS. Roxie was educated in the Lafayette County School System. Roxie enjoyed life to the fullest and she never met a stranger.
She worked at Alcoa in Davenport, IA for many years. She married the late TC Pearson, to this union five daughters were born. Later in life, she wed Willie Grady until he was called home.
Roxie enjoyed life to the fullest. She never met a stranger, and she loved spending time with her family and friends. All her family and friends loved her fried chicken, which was her specialty and no one never went hungry around her. She was truly blessed and blessings radiated off her to others.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories three daughters: Brenda (Jessie) Williams of Oxford, MS, Carolyn (Joe) Morgan of Davenport, IA and Kenita (Demetrius) Rodgers of Indianapolis, IN. Two brothers: Wes Sanders of Lincoln, NE and Ben Lee Sanders of Davenport, IA. Three sisters: Mary Tyson of Taylor, MS, Susan (Ray) Higgins of Oxford, MS and Jackie Woods of Taylor, MS. She also leaves thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two daughters; Barbara Calvert and Joyce Mattox, one brother; Willie Chris Sanders and two sisters; Charlene Sanders and Jeanette Sanders.
