NEW ALBANY – Joan Dillard Whitehead, 82, passed away Friday, June 12, 2020 at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, MS. Joan was a nurses aid at Cedar's Nursing Home in Tupelo, MS. She enjoyed her time attending country music and gospel music concerts. Joan was an avid collector of Elvis Presley memorabilia and country music magazines.
Joan is survived by her children, Martin Whitehead(Dorothy), Ricky Dillard, Kenneth Dillard, John Whitehead, Jr.(Christy), Charlie Dillard(Janice), Tim Dillard(Charlotte), and Terrica Lawson(Jeff); 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Nona Pannell, Linda Bridges, and Billy Dunlap.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Whitehead, Sr.; her mother and father, Annie and Joe Dunlap; and a sister, Barbara Dunlap.
Services will be Monday, June 15, 2020 at 2PM at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc with Bro. Cooper Swords officiating. Burial will follow in Ecru City Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Andy Dillard, John Whitehead III, Carey Dillard, Rodney Bright, Justin Lawson, and TJ Lawson.
Honorary Pallbearer: Hunter Bright.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 14, 5-8PM and Monday, June 15, 1PM until service time.
