Mr. Willie J. Duncan, Sr., 64, transitioned on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at his residence in Olive Branch, MS.
Willie James Duncan was born September 06, 1955 to the late Isaiah Duncan and Della Mae Hardge in Holly Springs, MS.
Willie accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age at Moscow Church of Christ and later joined Hopewell #2 Missionary Baptist Church where he served faithfully as one of God’s Doorkeepers.
Willie is a veteran of the United States Army. The discipline he learned while serving his country never left him. He always took pride in his work and projects.
Willie was joined in holy matrimony to Debra Powell; to this union one child, Kenya Duncan, was born.
Willie leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Della Mae Hardge of Grand Junction, TN; daughter, Kenya Duncan of Kennesaw, GA; son, Willie (Stephanie) Duncan, Jr. of Chicago, Il; eight grandchildren, Chardae, Nathaniel, Debbye, Makayla, Demaris, Winter, Wendy, and Willie III; eight sisters, Ella (Jake) Jeans of Holly Springs, MS, Hattie Washington of Olive Branch, MS, Annie Hodge of Memphis, TN, Jacqueline Hodge of Bolivar, TN, Mary Hodge of Grand Junction, TN, Izalia Duncan, Yvonne (Carl) Carruthers and Sandra Franklin all of Chicago, Il; five brothers, Lloyd Duncan of Augusta, GA, Grealing Duncan of Memphis, TN, James Franklin of Phoenix, AZ, Joe Hodge, Jr. of Grand Junction, TN, and James Hodge of Memphis, TN; two special aunts, Marie Duncan-Cobb & Gracie Cato-Bradley; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and a special cousin, Tobia Duncan.
Willie was preceded in death by three sisters, Denise Franklin, Jeanie Perkins, and Lola McNeal; and a Special Friend, Kathy E. Dalton.
