Jeffrey Scott McGaha

January 7, 1968 – October 31, 2020

Jeffrey Scott McGaha was born on January 7, 1968 to Mollie I. McGaha. He departed his earthly
home on Saturday, October 31, 2020. He joined Mt. Olive M.B. Church at an early age.
Jeff (Scotty) attended school in Baldwyn, MS until he moved to Cleveland, OH and graduated
from Shaw High School. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army where he
served for four years as a medic. Jeff returned to Cleveland and began to work at Konnis Market
for several years and later worked at Channel Products where he met his future wife. He attended
Cuyahoga Community college where he studied nursing. He moved back to Mississippi in 1995
and began working at Norbord Mississippi for twenty-one years. He married his sweetheart
Janetta Spencer and they were blessed with one daughter Jalisa McGaha. Jeff loved his family
and Mississippi State University. His love for MSU began at a young age when his sister Brenda
began studies and took him and their brother Louis there for a weekend of football and other
activities. He attended events as often as he could until his health prohibited it.
Jeff is survived by his loving, caring an devoted wife, Janetta Spencer McGaha; one daughter,
Jalisa McGaha of Memphis, TN; a granddaughter, Maddie Mooney of Tupelo. MS; his step-
father, Paul Easley of Cleveland, OH; two sisters, Brenda McGaha of Baldwyn,
MS and Pamela Easley of Cleveland, OH; two brothers, Louis (Pamela) McGaha of Tupelo, MS
and Paul A. (Rosalyn) Easley of Cleveland, OH; uncles, John McGaha of Tupelo, MS and
George McGaha of Baldwyn, MS; aunts, Pearlie McGaha of Baldwyn, MS and Joann McGaha
of Guntown, MS; his family-in-love, Freddie (Mollie) Spencer, Richard (Stephanie) Spencer,
Jennifer (Emile) Thompson, Adria (Elton) Clark, Adrian Spencer, Carrie Spencer, Shelia Cooley,
Arlene Brown and Leroy (Tressie) Spencer, Jr. of Mobile, AL; Bertha Woods of Cleveland, OH;
a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; his friend, football rival buddy, nephew and handy man,
Andre Mooney. He was preceded in death by his mother Mollie I. Easley, grandparents Robert
and Lillie McGaha and his brother-in-law Frank Spencer.
