Madalyn Brooke Bails

June 12, 1999 – January 11, 2021

Dear God, we say Thank You for the precious 21 years that you let us have Madalyn. God sent His angel to get Madalyn, took her under their wings and took her to her heavenly home to be with Him. There she met her Creator, dad Rodney, granddad LeRoy, uncle Robert and great grandmother Lou Lou on January 11, 2021.
Madalyn was born June 12, 1999 to the late Rodney Bails and Antoinette Freeman at North Mississippi Medical Center. Shortly after she was born she had to go to the NIC Unit (we prayed).
Madalyn loved God. She accepted Christ as her personal Savior, baptized and became a member of New Zion at the age of 9. She was a faithful member until the very end. We would go to Sunday School, sing in the choir, attend church, Vacation Bible School, attend District, State and National Conventions. She had a great Study Bible that she loved. She understood it and learned more of God’s Word.
At the age of 4, she attended Head Start with her grandmother as her teacher. That was grand (but she had to follow the rules as all the other children). She had wonderful teachers on through Elementary School. She had a great time at Plantersville. She went to Verona to finish up Elementary and Junior High then back to Plantersville. She decided to attend Shannon High School. She was very involved in the Beta Club, trips and Shannon High Band. During her 11th and 12th year she took college courses. She graduated in 2017 4th in her class. When entering Mississippi State University she already had one year of college. After three years she graduated MSU on November 25, 2020 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Science with a concentration in Child Development. She had enrolled in Graduate School at Tulane. Her goal was to be a Doctor.
Madalyn loved being active in the community. She was most proud of becoming an AKA on April 8, 2019 but, most of all she was passionate about helping and working with children. While she attended Mississippi State University, she worked in the Child Care Center.
For six years she was involved in Girl Scouts where she received the President Honor for volunteer service in the community and Girl Scout Gold Award. Madalyn was the youngest member in the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary. She was involved in the Angel Tree, Community Thanksgiving Luncheon, Toy Distribution, and Empty Bowl. The St. Jude Bike-A-Thon was another passion of hers.
Madalyn had a radiant smile. She was soft spoken, but that smile would touch your heart. God gave her that spirit to reach others and that she did!
Her memories will be cherished by her loving and devoted mother Antoinette; grandparents: Chink and Shirley Freeman, Dorothy Bails; uncle Perry Antone Freeman, uncle Dwight (Grentie) Bails, uncle Lavell (Sophia) Tate, uncle Derick Tate; great aunts: Arnita (Harvey) Moore, Dorothy (Sextus) Shannon, Lois (Charlie) Stone, Onie B. Hill, Aundra (Larry) Coleman; God parents Roy and Stephanie Patton; God brother Bryce Patton; God sister Sydney Patton. Special friends, classmates, Alpha Kappa Alpha Soror Lambda Eta, special cousins and everyone she came in contact with. To God we thank you for these fantastic 21 years. Amen
