Stevie Arnold Harmon, 64, of Vardaman passed from this life on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo after an extended illness. Born on September 26, 1956, in Vardaman, Stevie was a son to the late Edward Gordon Harmon and Juanita Evelyn Evans Harmon.
Stevie, known by his family and friends as Steve, faithfully worked for the Walmart Corporation for many years before retiring and enjoying the leisure side of life. He filled the days by cheering on the Atlanta Braves, solving crossword puzzles, and singing gospel songs. Steve was actively involved at First United Methodist Church of Vardaman and a member of New Liberty Baptist Church where he made his public profession of faith to our Lord and Savior.
He is survived by one brother Jackie (Glynda) Harmon of Summerfield, Florida, one sister-in-law Cathy Harmon of Oakland, Tennessee, and a host of nephews and nieces.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Gordon Harmon and Juanita Evelyn Evans Harmon; one brother, Robert Harmon.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 31, 2021, at Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Vardaman from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM. The funeral service remembering Steve's life will take place on Sunday, January 31, 2021, at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Robinson and Rev. Will Dowling officiating. Clifton Cardwell,Jeff Cardwell, Melvin Cardwell Jr. Free, Stacy Free, Brady Pendergraph, Chris Pendergraph, J. J. Pendergraph, and Ty Pendergraph will carry Steve to rest in New Liberty Cemetery.
