Services to celebrate the life of Marvin Lee King, 77, will be held Thursday at 2:00 pm at Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Warren Jones to officiate and burial to follow in the Holly Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 noon until service time. Masks and social distancing guide lines will be in place.
Marvin died on February 9, 2021 at his residence. He was born in Corinth on December 15, 1943 to the late Marvin Clay and Doris Helen Mullins King. He was a mechanic early in his career and also spent 20 years on the road driving an 18 wheeler. He was a member of Holly Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, backyard building projects, and playing with his dogs.
He is survived by his fiancée, Betty Hardin; daughter, Marla Parker (Greg); sons, David King (Marta) and Marvin "Clay" King (Megan); step-daughters, Teresa McClung (Roy) and Betty Jo Cartwright (Hoyt); grandchildren, Chelsey Parker, Caitlyn King, Sadie Rhea, Lisa Lauerman, Vanessa Bonin, Keenan McClung and Kiefer McClung; brothers, Charles King (Nancy) and Ralph King (Martha); and one sister, Mavis Martindale; and a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Marcus Lane King; grandson, Logan Parker; and a sister, Lynn Trantham.
