Avis Drewery Bartlett

December 24, 1925 – March 10, 2021

Tupelo- Avis Ione Drewery Bartlett, 95, died on Wednesday, March 10, 2021. She was born on Christmas Eve of 1925 in Arcadia, Louisiana to the late John Henry and Linnie Cherry Drewery. She had a career that would include owning a jewelry store, selling insurance and real estate, and teaching. Avis loved traveling, whether it be a long trip to different states or just an enjoyable afternoon ride, she was always just happy to be on the go. She also was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for and visiting with her family. More than anything, Avis had an thirst and hunger for God and His righteousness, which led her to serve Him with her entire being. She faithfully served at and attended Cedar Grove United Pentecostal Church in Tupelo, she also ministered to those in the jails for many years.

She is survived by her daughter, Debbie; granddaughter that she raised as her very own, Twillia Richardson (Joseph), Bigbee; brother, Joseph William "JW"Drewery; grandchildren, Brianna, Braden and Dawson Richardson, John, Jackson, Preston, Oliver, Sissy, Damien, Wyatt and Lily and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her sister, Edna Pearl Drewery Taylor; brothers, Claud Lee Drewery, Paul Phelp Drewery and Everett Osburn Drewery.

Funeral Services will be held at 3 PM on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at Cleveland Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Rev. Danny Robbins officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Cedar Grove United Pentecostal Church. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Simsboro, LA.

Visitation will be Sunday evening from 2 PM until 2:45 prior to the service.
