A. B. Isbell

February 20, 1936 – March 14, 2021

Celebration of Life Service for Abner Bryan “A.B.” Isbell, 85, is set for Tuesday March 16, 2021 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Smith officiating. Family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:00 noon to service time at the church. Burial will follow in Henry Cemetery.

A.B. died March 14, 2021 at Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was born January 20, 1936 in Loxora, Arkansas. He moved to Corinth with his family in 1968 to work for King and Stanley, which later became OCI. He was president before retiring. A.B. was a member of First Baptist Church, Corinth Rotary Club and an avid scout leader; receiving the Beaver Award for his leadership. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bill Jett and Gene Jett; and his sister Margaret Tillman.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Verna Allene Nelson Isbell; sons, Steve Isbell (Carolyn), Norman Isbell, and Brad Isbell (Lisa); daughter, Lydia Bethay (Lee); brother, James Isbell; sisters, Mary Ann Taylor, and Opal Mercer; grandchildren, Bryan Isbell, Kyle Bethay, Ryan Bethay, Alex Bethay, Claire Isbell, CJ Isbell, and their mother Karen Johnson Isbell; Eddie Isbell, Aaron Isbell, Owen Isbell, and Daniel Isbell; and great grandchildren, Elliott Bethay and Cadle Bethay; and a host of other family and friends.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
