Mr. Johnny Earl Stanton, 72, of Potts Camp, MS, went home to his savior on Friday, March 12, 2021, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in New Albany, MS.
He was retired from both from the U.S. Forest Service and the Benton County Sheriff’s Office. He was also a member of Temperance Hill Baptist Church and a U.S. Army Veteran.
He leaves his wife of 36 years, Wanda Stanton, two sons; Doug Stanton (Marcella) of Hernando, MS and Brian Stanton of Corinth, MS; one daughter, Stephanie Stanton Smith of Senatobia, MS; two Stepsons; Scott Mansel (Jennifer) and Neil Mansel (Paula) both of Hickory Flat, MS; three sisters, Joyce Clifton of Potts Camp, MS, Irene Pipkin and Rachel Vanzant, both of Hickory Flat, MS; 11 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
His death is preceded by the passing of his parents, G.W. (Buddy) Stanton and Mittie Ann Stanton, one brother, Thomas Stanton, and one sister, Bernice Lemons.
Services will be on Monday, March 15, 2021 at 1p.m., at Temperance Hill Baptist Church in Potts Camp, MS. Visitation will be on Monday, March 15, 2021 from 10a.m., until 12 Noon, family will receive friends and come back at 1:00 for service at Temperance Hill Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Serenity-Autry Funeral Home of Holly Springs is in charge of the arrangements
