Bobby David Stoddard

Smithville –Bobby David Stoddard, 66, passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 20201 at North Mississippi Medical Center-Gilmore, Amory, MS. Born in Smithville, he was a son of the late Roy Stoddard and Velda Addington Stoddard.

Bobby attended Smithville schools as a young man. He went to work at Red Cap Industries for several years. He then painted many homes and businesses in Monroe County before changing his career. His last job, prior to becoming disabled, was working as a Security Guard for Reliable Security. Bobby enjoyed working with the public and was a hard worker. He was a jokester and always had a way of making others laugh.

In his free time, he liked to listen to music and to play instruments, especially the piano and the guitar. He liked the outdoors and enjoyed the challenge of fishing. Being a private person, Bobby had a couple close friends, Nita Huntley and Butch Sawyer. He was a good friend, who cared genuinely about the ones who were part of his life.

His presence will be missed by his family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of good memories that his loved ones can cherish.

He is survived by his nephews, Richard Stoddard and Kenny Stoddard; niece, Kristy Stoddard; aunt, Bernice Roberts; and a host of extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Stoddard and Velda Stoddard Hetland; brother, Rodney Stoddard.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
