Mary “Madge” Crowell

January 5, 1937 – January 3, 2022

Mary Madgelene “Madge” Crowell, 84, passed away Monday, January 3, 2022, at Ruleville Nursing and Rehab in Ruleville, MS. She was born January 5, 1937, to Beary Franklin and Willie Odele Knight. She graduated from Jumpertown High School. She was a member of Emmanuel Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed church, drawing, playing games, dancing, and spending time with her family.

A Celebration of Life service will be 3:00 P.M. Saturday, January 8, 2022, at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Callahan officiating. Burial will be in Jumpertown Cemetery.

She is survived by one son, Mike (Sandra) Crowell; two daughters, Vicki Thornton and Angie Crowell; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Greg Crowell; her parents; one brother, Paul Junior Knight; and an infant sister, Katie Knight.

Pall bearers are Ashton Stephens, Grady Berryhill, Chad Thornton, Ethan Hutcheson, Michael Thornton and Drew Thornton.

Honorary pallbearers are Avery Stephens, Michael Thornton, Jr., Bronson Berryhill, Shane Eaton and Andrew Perry.

Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

  1. Dear Crowell family, I’m sorry for your loss and you have my deepest condolences. The loss of a loved one brings great pain and sorrow but you can gain comfort from God’s word the Bible. Acts 24:15 says “There is going to be a resurrection” so you can see your dear loved one again. A promise from our loving Heavenly Father. I hope this was a source of encouragement for the family.
