Carolyn Ann Dye departed this life for her life in eternity at Baptist Memorial Hospital-New Albany on Saturday, January 22, 2022 after a brief illness she was 72. Carolyn was born in Pontotoc, MS on July 2, 1949 to the late Floyd and Lela Chambers Elrod. She graduated from Shannon High School in 1967. She lived much of her life in Palmetto and Nettleton before moving to the Mooreville/Eggville area. She worked at Peoploungers for 13 years. Before retiring in 2013 to enjoy all her favorite things in life, she worked for over 20 years as an assistant manager at McRae’s/Belk, in the Men’s and Home Store. Carolyn Ann is preceded in death by her parents, a sister Doris Barnett, and a brother Jackie Elrod. She is survived by her four children; Gina Black (Andy) of Mooreville, Tina Haycraft (Gary) of Marietta, Patrick Dye of Eggville, and Carrie Churchill (James) of Eggville, her ten grandchildren, Lexi Rock (Bub), Roman Black, Tyler Hancock, Gabby Haycraft, Genna Haycraft, Jonathan Dye, Gavin Culver, Layne Culver, Molly Churchill, and Milly Churchill, Seven Great grandchildren, Romie Grace Rock, Aaiden Hancock, Kylie Hancock, Ruger Hancock, MJ Hughes, Eilynn Hughes, and Carter Culver, one sister Pam Malone of Tupelo, and several nieces and nephews. Carolyn was an avid reader reading thousands of books in her life time. She loved spending time with her family, loving on her grandchildren and great grandchildren, sewing, and making jewelry. She attended Tupelo Church of God.

Carolyn Ann’s Life will be celebrated on Friday, January 28, 2022 at 3:00 pm at the Tupelo Church Of God with Pastor Judd Vowell officiating. Dr. Lindsay Brett will deliver the Eulogy. Visitation will be from 5 PM-7PM Thursday and from 2 PM –service time Friday, all at Tupelo Church of God, 1813 Briar Ridge Road, Tupelo.  For those unable to attend, the service may be viewed on the Tupelo Church of God Facebook at 3 PM Friday.

Pallbearers will be Andy Black, Gary Haycraft, James Churchill, Roman Black, Tyler Hancock, Gavin Culver, and Layne Culver. Honorary Pallbearers will be Shane Allen and Eric Barnett.

  1. Dear Dye family, one of the saddest things someone can experience is the death of a loved one. Did you know the Bible compares death to sleep? (Psalms 13:3) Just as a person who is asleep is unaware of what is happening around him, the dead are not conscious of anything. There is a promise of hope in the Bible. Our loving God has promised to awaken the dead, as if from sleep, and give them life again. Acts 24:15 says, “There is going to be a resurrection.” The Bible offers comfort for those who are grieving and I hope this brings you comfort as well.
