DeAndré Barfield, 30, transitioned on Friday, February 18, 2022, at his residence, Baldwyn, MS.

DeAndré  Jermaine Barfield Jr. was born on August 30, 1991 in Joliet, Illinois to DeAndré  Jermaine Barfield Sr. and Dessa Fly.    DeAndré  departed this life on Friday, February 18 , 2022, at his home surrounded by his family.

DeAndré  attended Baldwyn  High School and graduated in 2009.   DeAndré played football as a defensive tackle which suited his physique of being one of the largest and strongest defensive players. DeAndré  was called the Bone Crusher and was a part of  a  group called SOS who played in the park together or entered the studio to record rap songs written by the group.  DeAndré  was known as a gentle giant by some of the  family members. DeAndré was kind and loved his family and often appeared to be the protector of his family.

DeAndré  accepted Christ at a young age and attended Ruben Chapel CME Church.  DeAndré  participated in Church by being a Jr. Usher and a Jr. choir member.

DeAndré  was preceded in death by his grandfathers: Thomas Walker (IL) and Wade Yill Sr. (MS); Uncle: Dante Campbell (IL); Aunt: Rose Jackson (MS); Sister: Monique Barfield (MS); Brother: Anthony Beene (MS)

DeAndré  leaves his loving parents to cherish his memories: Dessa Fly (MS) and De'Andre Jermaine Barfield Sr. (IL); grandmothers: Juanita Campbell (IL); Mildred Hill (MS); two sisters: Jackie Campbell (IL) and Adaja Depriest (MS); three brothers: Austin Williams (IL); Anthony DeArmond (MS); Chavez DeArmond Sr. (MS); ten aunts: Latonya Campbell (IL), Takiyah Barfield (IL), Levedia Barfield (IL), Makela (Renzo) Grizzard (MS), Takela (Steph) Cayson (MS), Melonie Fly (MS), Angela (Lamont ) Taylor (MS), Aja Fly (MS), Lashawnta Hill (MS), and Charlene Edmond MS); two uncles: Levelle (Octavia) Barfield (IL) and Ralathon Hill (MS), three nephews: Chavez DeArmond Jr, Knowledge Dearman, and Demarcus Barfield: one  niece Cataleya Barfield and a host of cousins, and friends.

Serenity-Simmons Funeral Home of New Albany, MS, is in charge of arrangements.
