Helen Marie Butler, 65, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi. She was born January 25, 1957, to S.L. and Bobbie Nell Edge. She was a devout Christian. Helen enjoyed spending her time reading, watching movies, and listening to music.
She is survived by one daughter, Wanda Hutcheson (Michael); one brother, Billy Joe Edge (Rachael); two sisters, Joanne Strickland (Len) and Wendy Wood; two grandchildren, Shelby Hutcheson and Tara Hutcheson; her nieces, Kayla Newcomb (Matthew), Georgia Edge, Katie Strickland, Jennifer Parker (Andrew), and Joni Wood; her nephews, Jeremy Wood (Erin), Joshua Wood (Ellie), Joseph Wood, Matthew Strickland (Regina), Scotty Strickland, and Daniel Strickland; and a host of great-nieces and one great-nephew.
She is preceded in death by her parents and two nieces, Tiffany Edge and Jojo Edge.
A private service will be held at a later date.

  1. Dear Butler family, one of the saddest things someone can experience is the death of a loved one. Did you know the Bible compares death to sleep? (Psalms 13:3) Just as a person who is asleep is unaware of what is happening around him, the dead are not conscious of anything. There is a promise of hope in the Bible. Our loving God has promised to awaken the dead, as if from sleep, and give them life again. Acts 24:15 says, “There is going to be a resurrection.” The bible offers comfort for those who are grieving and I hope this brings you comfort as well.
