Thelma Kay Hood

Baldwyn- Thelma Kay Hood,85, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at the NMMC. She was a former nurse at Dr. Mitchell Ford’s office for over 20 years. She enjoyed cooking and she was a very loving and caring person and enjoyed doing things for people. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Ozark Church of Christ.

Funeral services will be held at Waters Funeral Home on Friday, January 20, 2023 at 2:00 p. m. with Bro. Tom House officiating. Burial will be in Kirkville Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Eulon Hood of Houston Community; daughter, Anita Holland (Lanny) of Houston Community; son, Mitchell Hood (Carolyn) of Houston Community; sister, Hazel Cross of Fulton; grandchildren, Zack Holland, Kimberly Graham and Lindsey Putman (Scott) all of Houston Community; great-grandchildren, Briar Graham, Leah Graham, Sydney Young, Preston Young and Bella Young; host of other family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father, Otho Wright and mother Willie Hammock and a grandchild, Jamie Hood; brothers, Richard Wright and Robert Earl Wright.

Pallbearers will be Greg Hood, Tim Hood, Matthew Hood, David Hood, Briar Graham and Preston Young.

Visitation will be at Waters Funeral Home, Thursday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 p. m.

  1. Oh how I loved Ms. Thelma…she was always such a comfort when I was being dragged in to Dr. Ford’s office for school shots back in the late 60’s early 70’s😂Always such a joy for me and my parents to see her on our visits. Love and prayers for such a wonderful lady and her family❤🙏

  2. Thelma was a great nurse. My parents thought the world of her! She always took care of them when they went to Dr Ford’s office. My sympathy to the family.
