Mr. Fred Pierce Flanagin, 77, died Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at his home in Batesville, MS. The funeral will be Friday, April 7, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Lipe officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow in Clear Creek Cemetery.
Mr. Flanagin was born on March 22, 1946, to the late Carl and Hazel Pierce Flanagin. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and retired from Brown-Campbell Steel Company where he worked as Warehouse Foreman. A member of Clear Creek Baptist Church, Mr. Flanagin held many close friendships and enjoyed the special time of fellowship each week. After church on Sunday, he would settle in to enjoy Nascar racing, keeping up with all of his favorite teams and drivers. An avid outdoorsman, Mr. Flanagin enjoyed fishing and all types of hunting. During deer season, he looked forward to the early mornings in the stand, never taking for granted the beauty of the sport. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sue Ann Webb.
Mr. Flanagin is survived by his wife, Connie Crowe Flanagin of Batesville, MS; daughter, Nita Flanagin Sory and her husband, Tyler of Collierville, TN; brother, Paul Wayne Flanagin and his wife, Cindy of Petal, MS; and two grandchildren, Savannah Claire Davidson and Morgan Elizabeth Sory.
