John R. Behrman

John Richard Behrman, 80, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at Sanctuary Hospice in Tupelo after an extended illness with Parkinson’s. He was born in Houston, Texas on October 24, 1942 to Sing Behrman Angle. John was a graduate of the University of Houston with several degrees and spent his career as a Certified Public Accountant for various companies. He moved to Aberdeen, Scotland for almost ten years as a COO for Tri State Oil. He set up operations in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. Upon returning to Tupelo, he worked for Triangle Distributors, Westwood Industries, Weyerhaeuser and United Chair.

Johns was a man of many talents and a variety of interests. He had a life-long love for skeet shooting, fishing and snow skiing. He loved to travel and attend concerts especially Jimmy Buffett. John enjoyed spending time with friends, playing dominoes, grilling out, watching Nascar and college ballgames. He became an avid Mississippi State Bulldog after meeting his wife, Roseanna. They enjoyed many years at Pickwick at their lake house and in their boat on the river. After retirement, John spent most of his time with his beloved dog, Gabe.

Funeral services will be held at Waters Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at 3:00 p. m. with Rev. Dennis Smith officiating. Burial will be in Campbelltown Cemetery.

John is survived by his wife of 30 years, Roseanna Campbell Behrman; his daughters, Natalie King (Grant) of Tupelo, Christine Hinkle (David) of Kyle, Texas, Deanna Gable (Ike) of Guntown and his son, Daniel Davis (Kellie) of Guntown; 11 grandchildren, Harper Dinneen, Grace Dineen, Brynlee King, Magnolia Hinkle, Sawyer Hinkle, Jacob Gable, Davis Claire Gable, Anna Meryn Gable, Meri-Campbell Davis, McKee Davis and Marleigh Davis.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sing Behrman Angle.

Pallbearers will be Lee Davis, Kirk Downs, Kyle Downs, Greg Fondren, Michael Hendrix, Larry Hood, Charles Poole and Mark Rutledge.

The family wants to acknowledge the special care given to John during the past two and a half years by Enhabit Hospice, Creekside Manor, Lakeview Place and Sanctuary Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sanctuary Hospice in Tupelo or the Parkinson’s Foundation.

Visitation will be at Waters Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 from 1:00 – 3:00 p. m.
