Marilyn L. Thompson Martin, 87, peacefully passed away on May 11, 2023, at her residence in Starkville, MS surrounded by friends and family. She was born on September 18, 1935, in Oktibbeha County to the late James B. Thompson and Vevie Mae Edwards Thompson and had 10 siblings.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Martin; daughter, Marlinda Martin Phillips, and grandson, Jon Tyler Martin.
She is survived by her sons, Keith Martin (Debbie) of Madison, MS, Barry Martin (Melinda) of Eva, AL, Andy Martin (Lisa) of Columbus, MS; son-in-law, Porter Phillips of Starkville, MS; 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, May 16, 2023, from 12:00-2:00 pm at Adaton Baptist Church in
Starkville, MS, with the funeral service immediately following. Reverend Hal Selby will conduct the
service. Burial will be in the Adaton Baptist Church Cemetery.
