Janice Lou Mayhan

Janice Lou Mayhan was born March 4, 1944, in Baileyville, MS to Clifton and Helen Alexander. She was married to Earl Mayhan over 50 years. Together they had one son, Paul Mayhan.

Jan was a follower of Christ, wife, mother, friend, and giver. She loved everyone that she met. If you ever visited her, you could not leave empty handed. Jan lived most of her life in Derma, MS. Prior to moving to Fort Worth, TX to be with her son and family. She loved to travel and enjoyed trips to New York City, Philadelphia, Boston, and the Smoky Mountains. Jan served her church spending countless hours volunteering in the nursery or kitchen. She also enjoyed time with her granddaughter that often resulted in shopping, talking, or joking together.

Jan is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Mayhan; parents Clifton and Helen Alexander; and brother Thomas Alexander. She leaves her son Paul Mayhan, daughter-in-law Jennifer Mayhan. Granddaughter Charissa Mayhan, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family ask that in lieu of flowers please give to the Gideons or to missions in your local church so that we can continue to spread the gospel in Jan’s honor.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 12, 2023, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce. The service honoring Jan's life will take place on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 10:30 A.M. in the chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce with Bro. David Poynor and Bro.
