Lillie Mae Morris was born June 11, 1932, to the late Annie Bell and Larmia
Ambrose. She accepted Christ at an early age at New Prospect, Nettleton,
MS. She later joined Mt. Zion M.B. Church where she remained a member
until death. Lillie was a member of the Usher Board and the Choir until her
health declined.
On March 15, 2023, Sweet Lillie was called to her heavenly home
surrounded by her family. She leaves to cherish her memories her children:
Lillie Ruth Johnson (Terry) of Plantersville, MS, Betty Meardith (Jackie)
and Alvin Morris (Latonya) both of Verona, MS; one sister, Annie Mae
Ambrose of Verona, MS; son-in-law, Charles Turner, Jr. of Tupelo, MS; her
grandchildren: Kimberly, Ashanti, Tiffany, Terrance all of Verona, MS,
Rodrico (Kristy) of Georgia and Tameka (Joe) of Texas; great-
grandchildren: Asia (Terry), Brittney, Brian, Braxton, Azariah, Alexis,
Tyler, Jayvion, Lil Rico, Psalm, Psiah, and Psirus; great-great
grandchildren: Braileigh, Harley, Marcella and Skylar; a brother-in-law,
Frank Morris of Greenwood, MS; sisters-in-law: Elizabeth Harris and Inez
Ambrose both of Verona, MS and Syble Morris of Shannon, MS; and a host
of nieces, nephews and other family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Morris; daughter, Phyllis
Morris Turner; two sons, James Russel Morris and William Morris; a
granddaughter, Lisa Meardith; and her siblings:
