Ricky Eugene Pitts

September 11, 1958 – February 12, 2023

MANTACHIE – Ricky Eugene Pitts, 64, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2023, at his home after fighting a long battle against lung cancer. He was born September 11, 1958, to WIlliam Eugene "Bill" Pitts and Antonia Montez Rincones. He was a Baptist and an extremely hard worker his whole life. He enjoyed outdoors, fishing, and hunting, and one of his most favorite hobbies was grilling out. One never went hungry around him, and he could grill anything to perfection. Every fall and spring race, he went to his home away from home, Talladega, and camped out all weekend and went to the races rain or shine. He loved his NASCAR. Ricky definitely lived his life to the fullest in everything he did. He enjoyed spending as much time with friends and family any chance he could. He had a genuine heart and was someone everyone enjoyed having around. He will truly be missed.

Ricky is survived by his mother and many brothers and sisters, all of the St. Louis, Missouri, area. He also leaves five children, Jacqueline Harmon (Jonas) of Mantachie, Janessa Naveiras (Nick) of Albuquerque, NM, Jennifer George (Rob) of Marietta, Jonathan Pitts of Boynton Beach, FL, and Jessica Pitts of New York; a very special bonus daughter, Vonda Johnson of Memphis, TN; 11 grandchildren, Austin, Tyran, Ethan, Mason, Janie, Cheyenne, Joseph, Madalynne, Makayla, Damien, and Tyler; as well as many friends whom he considered his family.

Ricky was preceded in death by his father, William "Bill" Pitts; his twin sons, Bryan Keith and Bobby Lynn; and his lifelong, closest friend/co-worker, Abner White.
