Santanna M. Holland was born July 9th, 1985, to the late Annell
Carouthers Holland and James E. Holland. She was a 2003 graduate of
Tupelo High School. She went on to earn her Associates of Arts degree
at Itawamba Community College. She later obtained her Bachelor’s in
Social Work from the University of Mississippi and went on to get her
Master’s at Mississippi University for Women.
Santanna was employed by Fred’s Super Dollar until she graduated
from Ole Miss. Her latest employer was at First Presbyterian, where
she worked for 12 years and for Lift Incorporated for 9 years until her
untimely passing.
Santanna was a member of Palmetto CME Church, where she was a
faithful and dedicated member. She was someone who loved working
and enjoyed any travel that didn’t involve her driving. In her spare
time, Santanna liked to babysit and care for the elderly. Most
importantly, she was a God-fearing woman and valued her relationship
with God above all.
Santanna is now resting with love inside God’s arms. She was preceded
in death by her parents, grandparents, and three great aunts.
Santanna leaves to cherish sweet memories to her twin sister,
Montanna (Gerald) Spraggins, along with two other sisters, Tounya
Gill and Chanisha Sims, and one brother Charles (Paola) Hodges. She
will also remain in memory with her one niece, Kennedy Hodges, and
three nephews: Cainen Brownlee, Torrence, and Lorenzo Gill, and her
godparents, Mr. Mark and Stephanie Foster. Along with a host of
cousins, aunts, and uncles from both her mother’s and father’s sides of
the family, including a special aunt Elsie (Willie) Smith, who she
requested to be by her side as her health declined.
Her memory will also be left with seven special devoted friends:
Marceia Hill, Tari Vance, Rebecca Buchanan, Lasundra Mallard,
Courtney Hadley, Crystal Moore, and Mercedes Hannah, who will honor her until God calls them home.
