Lynnette Sue Jones Williams went home to be in the presence of Our Sovereign Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the 22nd of June, 2023.
The oldest daughter of the late Norwood L. Jones and the late Dorothy J. Murphrey Jones of Taylor, Mississippi, she was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on the 21st of July, 1947. When she was a young girl the family moved back to Taylor, and then after 2nd grade at Taylor School, where her grandmother Corrie M. Jones was principal, they moved to Tulsa again. She married Richard Patrick Williams on the 19th of July, 1966 in Tulsa. They lived in Texas and then in Spain while he served in the US Air Force. Their only child, Richard P. Williams, Jr. was born in Spain. In 1989 they moved to Taylor where Lynnette, a talented bookkeeper, worked in the family businesses. She also worked for several Oxford and Lafayette county companies and served as the Post Master Relief at Taylor Post Office, retiring several years ago. She and Richard were formerly active members in the Taylor Baptist Church and then founding members in the Reformed Baptist Church of Oxford.
She is survived by husband, Richard of Taylor, son Richard Jr. (Melissa) of Castalian Springs, Tennessee, grandson Richard III of Little Rock Air Force Base, granddaughter Lauren Williams of Lafayette County, four great grandchildren, and three sisters, Joyce McDonald of Tulsa, Janice Martin, and Shawnna Jones both of Taylor.
The family had a private burial in Oxford, fully believing that she has already entered Heaven and is enjoying the fruits of the Hope of Glory in Christ now and forever.
