William Michael Boyd

Mr. William Michael “Mike” Boyd, 82, died Monday, September 4, 2023, at his home in Paris, MS. The funeral will be Friday, September 8, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at Delay Baptist Church with Bro. Blaine Davis officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the church. Burial will follow the service in Delay Cemetery.

Mr. Boyd was born on April 3, 1941, in Blytheville, AR, to the late Ruth Sockwell and Virgil D. Boyd. As a member of The United States Air Force, he bravely and proudly served his country. He and his father opened a restaurant, The Villa, in Blytheville, AR, where they worked for many years, garnering the love and support of many locals. Mr. Boyd later became a Quality Control Analyst for Toro until his retirement. The little things in life brought him the greatest joy, like spending a day hunting or fishing. He passed on this love of nature and the outdoors to both his children and grandchildren. Though Mississippi had long been the place he called home, he remained a devoted fan to his Arkansas Razorbacks. Mr. Boyd was a beloved and faithful member of Delay Baptist Church, where he held many cherished friendships. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Trena Lucille Boyd and his daughter, Johnnie Michelle Boyd Leggio.

Mr. Boyd is survived by his son, Jeffery Boyd of Paris, MS; four grandchildren, Scott Bearden, Katherin Leggio, Shelby Thomas, and John Michael Leggio; and four great-grandchildren, Jace Leggio, Ethan Gill, Hank Thomas, and Hallie Thomas.
