Billie Wade Robison
Guntown- Billie Wade Robison was born 05-07-1945 to Grace Watson Robison and Gordon Robison. He was a loving sibling to the late Betty Jean McClellen (Lawson), James Gordon Robison (Joyce), the late Sammy Ray Robison (Dawn), JoAnn Herring (the late Robert) and Carolyn Robison, all from Guntown. Billie attended Cedar Hill Community School and Graduated from Baldwyn High School in 1966. In 1967 Billie enlisted and served in the US Army Infantry at Fort Jackson Company B Tenth Battalion 2nd Brigade. He served 6 years in the Army Reserve. He was very proud of this time in his life. His duty was company cook. To present day he could not cook a small batch of anything especially French-fried potatoes due to his days of peeling hundreds for his country.
Billie Wade was an avid sportsman. If it could walk, fly or swim he or his brothers liked to hunt or fish for it. He took many trips throughout his life hunting or fishing; with each trip his stories grew more vivid and full of adventure. It is no wonder his children have such a love for travel. Billie not only had a love for a good hunt, but he also had an overall love for nature in general. He spent more than half his life working as a dairy farmer and the other half as a beef cattleman. He loved all things related to farming but most enjoyed sitting on a tractor raking hay while enjoying Gods open air on a pretty summer afternoon.
Funeral services will be held at Waters Funeral Home on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 2:00 p. m. with Bro. Tim Robert and Bro. Darren Herring officiating. Burial will be in the Camp Creek Cemetery.
Billie’s other great love would be his family. His first love was Rebecca Myhand (Becky) They married and had three children Dena and Chris (Brandy) of Guntown and Angie (Steve) of Saltillo. Later in life he met and married Janis Laird of Guntown. Billie was a special man. He loved her from his heart and when he met Janis, he loved her children as his own. They did not use the term “step” daughters they were simply his girls.
To know Billie was to witness a rare old soul there are none other like him and none that can compare. Billie was preceded in death by his sister Betty Jean, a brother Sammy Ray, a granddaughter Anna Rebecca and his parents. He leaves behind him a daughter Dena, Angie (Steve) April (Leon) Ashley (Jason) and a son Chris (Brandy) 12 grandchildren 14 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
