Elcue Leslie Morgan, Jr.

Elcue Leslie "Les" Morgan Jr, 87 passed away peacefully on November 14, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. He was born on February 15, 1936, in Pine Valley, MS, to Elcue Leslie Morgan Sr and Hatti Lee (Black) Morgan.

While living in Phonix Arizona Les worked for several auto parts stores and eventually became a co-owner of one. After moving back home to Mississippi Les worked in the furniture distribution industry. Les also served in the Marines, proudly protecting his country.

Les was deeply involved in his faith as a Deacon of Parker Baptist Church. He found solace and purpose within the church community, guiding and supporting those around him. Music was also a passion that brought joy to Elcue's life. During his time living in Arizona, he formed a band and showcased his musical talents. When he returned home to Pittsboro, he continued to share his gift of song at the Bollinger Family Theater.

Les's memory will forever be cherished by his wife, Grace Martin-Morgan; his son, Richard Duane (Karen) Morgan, Hugo, OK; step-son, Freddie (Judy) Martin, Banner, MS, his siblings: Betty Means, Brandon, MS, Mary (Billy) Leonberger, Florence, MS, Patricia (Ed) Ashley, Mendenhall, MS, and Cheryl Morgan, Florence, MS; his adoring grandchildren: Heather (David Delagaiza) Morgan, Kristy Morgan, Ben (Jennifer) Payton, Jon (Sarah) Payton, and Jamie (Jennifer) Foshee; along with eleven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: his parents Elcue & Hattie Morgan, his first wife Juanita Hocutt Morgan, and a brother; Jack Morgan.

To honor and celebrate the life of Elcue Leslie Morgan Jr, a public viewing will be held on November 18, 2023, at 12:00 pm at Parker Memorial Funeral Home. A  funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kevin Smith officiating. After the ceremony, Les's final resting place will be in Parker Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest. Shade Bethany, Anthony Bollinger, Eddie Bollinger, John Bollinger, Dale Morgan and Jason Tutor will serve as pallbearers.
