Patrick Calomese was born August 18, 1964, to his mother, Anne G. Fleming of Baldwyn, MS
and his father, the late Sylvester (Virginia) Williams of Baldwyn, MS. He gave his life to Christ at
an early age at Spring Hill M. B. Church of Baldwyn, MS.
He attended Baldwyn High School where he lettered in varsity basketball for four years. In May
of 1982, he graduated valedictorian of his senior class with high aspirations of pursuing an
Electrical Engineering degree at Mississippi State University in Starkville, MS. He excelled at
Mississippi State University through the Co-Op engineering program offered thru THE Great
Southern Company, MS. Power. He graduated from Mississippi State University in 1987 with a
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
On May 21, 1988, he was joined in Holy matrimony that was ordained by God, to ShaeSharon
(Howard) Calomese. Over their 36 year union they were blessed with four children and eight
grandchildren: son Justin (Kandace) Calomese of Waveland, MS, daughter Alexis Calomese of
Hattiesburg, MS, son Jordan Calomese of Waveland, MS, and daughter Aleyah Calomese of
Waveland, MS; from Justin came Kadence Calomese, (god – grandson Reberto Stanton Jr.),
Jaden Calomese, Karley Calomese, and Kylee Calomese; from Alexis came Eli Sims, Allen Fails,
and Ava Fails: In 1991, he joined Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church of Hebron, MS where
he remained a faithful member through multiple city relocations. He served as a chairman of
the deacon board and deacon totaling over 30 years. He absolutely loved his Church Family. He
had a special love of the male choir and church community; among the many boards and
auxiliaries. Patrick spent most of his time with the Deacon Board and the male choir. You could
always find him on the last row of the deacon pew. Most of all, his love for Christ he
demonstrated to all.
Patrick was employed for 40 years with Mississippi Power from the age of 18 until his death at
the age of 59. At Mississippi Power, he led storm response teams, served as aerial manager for
the Mississippi Gulf Coast, became a renowned instructor in the company, and finished as the
Director of Safety for Mississippi Power. His final achievement with Mississippi Power, he was
recognized by the board for being the only Director of Safety of a major corporation without
any major injuries reported in the company, for a span of three years.
His hobbies included: watching sci-fi, action and thriller movies, rooting for the Raiders and
being a rollercoaster and theme park enthusiast. Most of all an avid MS State fan, which rivaled
his wife's alma mater of Ole Miss. This always made Thanksgiving interesting depending on who
won the Egg Bowl. He also enjoyed planning taking church trips, family vacations, driving to
vacation spots and enjoying the scenery. His favorite food was chitterlings. All though we
cannot see him, we can rest assured that he is now in his Heavenly Home with our Father God.
He leaves behind: his sister Kela (Jan) Starks of Baldwyn, MS and his brother Benji (Amanda)
Williams of Guntown, MS; his in-laws Robert and Mary Howard of Oxford, MS; his god parents
G.W. and Ollie Mae Booth of Collins, MS; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews,
sisters-in law, brothers-in-law, cousins and friends.
