James Gordon Robison

Saltillo -James Gordon Robison, lifelong Lee County farmer, was born August 21, 1942, to Howard Gordon Robison and Grace Watson Robison. He left his earthly life on March 20, 2024. James Gordon was a faithful member of Camp Creek Baptist Church. He was the president of the men’s brotherhood and after his retirement he became a charter member of the “Early Morning “ prayer group. He lived all his life in the Blair/ Cedar Hill Community. James Gordon served on the board of directors of the Lee County Farm Bureau and was president of the board for the last 22 years of his service. He also served on various other agencies such as the North Miss Landbank Board of Directors for 21 years, committee member on the Soil Conservation Board, Director of Lee County Co-op and was a member of the Town Creek Water Association. He was elected Farm Bureau family of the year in 1978. As a youth he was a member of the 4H Club, Boy Scouts, and FFA and he was an avid hunter taking many hunting trips out west with his hunting buddies. The greatest loves of his life was God, Joyce, his children, grandchildren and siblings. His grandchildren were the apple of his eye. He never complained about having to work 24/7 most of his life Always supporting his children in whatever they did.

Funeral services will be held at Camp Creek Baptist Church on Sunday, March 24, 2024 @ 5:00 p. m. with Bro. Chad Higgins, Truman Robison, Danny Bishop, Dr. Chuck Herring, and Rep. Jerry Turner officiating. Burial will be in Camp Creek Church Cemetery. Waters Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

His survivors are his wife of 61 years, Joyce Herring Robison; three children Robin (Robbie) Robison of Senatobia, MS, Jamie (George) Loper of Olive Branch, MS, Chad (Rachel) Robison of Orange, Texas; six grandchildren Taylor Loper of Dallas, Blake (Lindie) Loper of Starkville, Randi (Caleb) Aldridge of Columbus, Rylee (Logan) Kirkman of Guntown, Arden Robison of Orange, Texas and Truman Robison of Orange Texas; two sisters JoAnn Herring of Guntown and Carolyn Robison of Guntown; two sister-in-laws Dawn Robison of Guntown and Peggy Herring of Saltillo; brother-in-laws, Lawson (Sandra) McClellan of Guntown and BD Herring (Patsy) of Germantown, TN; host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Grace Robison; one sister, Betty McClellan; two brothers, Sammy Robison and Billy Robison and two brother-in-laws, Robert Herring and Jack Herring.

Pallbearers will be Scotty White, Brandon Robison, Tyler Robison, Chris Robison, Darren Herring, Barry Herring, Jason Herring, Ken Herring, and Bob Herring.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Lonnie Neaves, Larry Gentry, Wayne Fredrick, Jamie Nelson, Mike Smith, Danny Bishop, Mike White, Mize Tynes, Kirby Hughes, Kevin Moore, Tony Bailey, Baldwyn class of 1960, nieces and their spouses, great-nephews and nieces

In Lieu of flowers the family requests donations to American Alzheimer’s Association, Camp Creek Baptist Church, Hillcrest Church of Christ.

Visitation will be at Waters Funeral Home on Saturday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 p. m. and at the church one hour prior to the service on Sunday.
