Billy Wayne Wilburn, 79, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2024, at his home. He was born February 13, 1945, to Harold Lee “Did” Wilburn and Rachel Loden Wilburn. He was a member of the Big Oak Baptist Church. He raised chickens, pigs, and quail, and he retired from Foamex as a foam machine operator. He loved gardening and was known for his yellow meated watermelons. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a great cook.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 19, at the Big Oak Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Mills Wilburn; three sons, Austin Bradley Wilburn (Sherri Johnson), Chris Wilburn, and Marty Wilburn (Tina), all of Fulton; one daughter, Kacy Wilburn Peel (Andrew) of Saltillo; three brothers, Robert Wilburn (Judy), Jeff Wilburn (Lisa), and Ken Wilburn (Diane), all of Fulton; eight grandchildren, Luke Wilburn (Hailey), Logan Wilburn, Lauren Wilburn, Dixie McCulloch (Patrick), Tyler Wilburn, Gerard “Junior” Gray, Jenna Marie Wilburn, and Sylvie Kate Wilburn; several great grandchildren; and other family members.
He was preceded in death by one son, Richard Wilburn; two grandsons, Dustin Wilburn and Joshua Wilburn; one brother, Harold Lee “Moose” Wilburn, Jr.; and his parents.
