Martha A. Brackin, 95, passed away at the Carrington in Starkville, MS on May 28, 2024. She was a homemaker, member of New Hope Baptist Church and a caretaker of family. She loved beautiful flowers, gardening, cooking, and cats.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Brackin; her parents, R P Barnett and Clara Ann Denny Barnett; son, Mitchell Brackin; brothers, R P Barnett, Jr., Jim Tom Barnett, Samuel Douglas Barnett, and Franklin R. (Sweet Pea) Barnett; granddaughter, Jennifer Leigh Brackin; grandson, Troy Dean Earnest; and sister, Mary Jewel Fisher, and infant sister, Joyce Barnett.
Martha is survived by her daughters, Inez Carter (Ronnie) of Southaven, MS, and Dianne Sullivan (Raybon) of Caledonia, MS; sons, Jimmy Brackin (Patty) of Starkville, MS, and Charles Brackin (Jan) of West Point, MS; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great- great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday, May 31, 2024 from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, MS, with the funeral service immediately following in the funeral home chapel. Steve Parker will conduct the service. Burial will be in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
