Mrs. Ina Adams Bell, 101, died Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Yalobusha Nursing Home in Water Valley, MS. The funeral will be Friday, July 12, 2024, at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. Craig Warren officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 2:00 P.M. Burial will follow the service in Eastover Memorial Cemetery.

Ina was born on July 23, 1922, in Lafayette County, MS, to the late Ora Alexander Adams and James W. Adams. She retired from the comptroller’s office in Memphis, TN, before returning to Oxford in 2000. With a servant’s heart, Ina looked for any opportunity to give back to whatever community she found herself in. She was active in many church’s vacation bible school programs, happily volunteering in whatever role was needed. Ina found enjoyment and friendships in bible study groups and loved to share the word by teaching Sunday school. She started a nursery in her home, lovingly looking after the children as if they were her own. The parents trusted her to not only provide care for their children, but to become like another grandmother who spoiled them with love and attention. Looking for even more ways to give back, Ina lent her talent in the kitchen to a non-profit organization, preparing delicious meals to those most in need. She led with her heart, always putting others first and setting the finest example for her beloved daughter and grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Ina was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas M. Bell; as well as eight siblings.

Ina is survived by her daughter, Karen Allison and her husband, Gerald, of Oxford, MS; and her grandchildren, Tyler Gannaway and his fiance, Rebecca Levy, of Dallas, TX and Nicole Gannaway of Nashville, TN.
