Lavirl Foster, known affectionately as “Bud” by his loved ones, passed away on July 4, 2024, at 87. He was born on June 13, 1937 to Ira Gertrude and John Ollie Foster. He resided in Boonevile for the last 46 years. Bud proudly served his country in the Army National Guard. Professionally, he worked for a local company, A.C. Wright Trucking, where he retired in 1999. He spent the last 25 years of his life being the best husband, father, and grandfather his family could have asked for. On May 4, 1963, Bud married the love of his life, Patty Jean, and together they built a family filled with love and laughter. He was a devoted father to Pamela (Joe) Grooms, John (Nikki) Foster, and the late David Foster. He was most proud of his ten grandchildren: – and ten great-grandchildren. Those who knew him knew that there were no limits to what he would do for those he loved. He lived a long, fulfilling life, surrounded by those he loved. Predeceased by his parents, his beloved wife Pat, a son, David, and his sisters Doris Foster, Wanda Fitts, and Bernice Reid. Services to celebrate Bud’s remarkable life will be held on July 6, 2024, at Water’s Funeral Home, 309 N. Second Street, Baldwyn, Mississippi. Visitation will be from 10:00am to 12:00pm with services beginning at 12:00. Burial will follow at Allen Line Cemetery, where Bud will be laid to rest. Grandsons Kyle Wright, Chase Foster, Chance Foster, Morgan Johnson, Clay Robbins, and special family friend, Jeremy Adams will serve as Pallbearers. Great grandsons, Keegan and Cooper Johnson will be honorary pallbearers. Kevin Balius, a special family friend will deliver the eulogy. Bud’s granddaughters Courtney Johnson and Jordyn Foster will give heartfelt tributes at the service. Lavirl “Bud” Foster will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and friend. His stories, wisdom, and the warmth of his company will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
