Barbara Ann Smith Haynes

Mrs. Barbara Ann Smith Haynes, 90, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2024, at The Elison in Oxford, MS. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 14, 2024, from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Waller Funeral Home in Oxford, MS. A graveside service will follow at 3:30 p.m. at the Lambert Memorial Cemetery in Lambert, MS, with Fish Robinson officiating.

Born on July 7, 1934, in Arkansas, Mrs. Haynes was the daughter of the late Clovis Dalton and Mary Jane Pavlou Smith. Mrs. Haynes was a graduate of Lambert High School and attended Northwest Junior College. As a young adult, she worked as a flight attendant and enjoyed this time of adventure before marrying her husband, “Buddy,” and raising their family. She enjoyed baking and was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Lambert. Along with her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Fletcher S. “Buddy” Haynes; a grandson, Justin Haynes; two brothers, C. D. Smith, Jr. and William Smith; and a sister, Kathleen Collins.

Mrs. Haynes is survived by two daughters, Sandra Carlton and her husband, Ed, of Dallas, TX, and April Haynes of Oxford, MS; a son, Sandy Haynes and his wife, Kathy, of Oxford, MS; four grandchildren, Randall Mize and her husband, Lee, Austin Haynes and his wife, Hanna, Cassie Stubblefield and her husband, Zach, and Chase Carlton; and three great-grandchildren, Bailey, Mary Conlee, and Hallie Rae.
