Mary Janice McCary-Ray was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She left this world on August 4th, 2024 at age 78, in Hernando, Mississippi. Her battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed her strength in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, Janice came out a hero and stayed strong. Her heart was filled with an abundance of love, joy, and treasured memories of all she touched.
She was born to Cecil and Dorothy (Lindsey) McCary on February 13, 1949. She married her sweetheart Ralph Floyd and had two beautiful daughters: Deborah Laws and Kelley Floyd Cincurak. Janice worked hard to provide for her daughters after seperation from Ralph. Sorely they were too young when married and continued down separate paths.
Janice met her true love, Rickie Ray when she operated a restaurant on the Air Force base where he was stationed. They married April 14th, 2000 and enjoyed vacationing with their children and grandchildren. She always put family first. She did everything together with her husband and lived as one soul. They opened their home to life long friends, cousins, children, and grandchildren to stay whenever needed. It was the true definition of home.
She is predeceased by her father Cecil McCary and her mother Dorothy McCary, her sister Betty, and brother Cecil Boyce McCary. She is celebrated by daughter Deborah Laws and her children Ray Laws and Kerry Hagar, daughter Kelley Floyd Cincurak and her children Landrey Cincurak, Lauren Cincurak, and Averi Cincurak, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was “Janice,” ”sis,” “mommy,” and “Memom”. She lived her life to the fullest, was everyone’s rock, inspiration, and best friend. Her witty comebacks and positive attitude brought nothing but happiness and joy to all she touched. Her constant faith gives us comfort that we will be together again.
