Mary Jane “Janie” Patterson Dunaway
Saltillo- Mary Jane “Janie” Patterson Dunaway, 73, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at the NMMC Hospice Unit. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, shopping and spending time with family. She was a member of Mayfield House of God Church.
Funeral services will be held at Waters Funeral Home on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at 2:00 p. m. with Bro. Merle Floyd officiating. Burial will be in McNeil Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband of 11&1/2 years, Pete Dunaway of Saltillo; daughter, Tammy Wheeler of Pontotoc; sons, Michael Patterson (Teresa) of Derby, KS and Robert Wheeler (April) of Augusta, KS; step-son, Ray Dunaway (Maria) of New Albany; step-daughter, Rose Hester (Ryan) of Saltillo; grandchildren, Evelyn Rose Jarvis, Kensley Jarvis, Katie Jarvis, Evie Dove, Amber McCormick, Josh Wheeler and Megann Patterson; step-grandchildren, Blake Hester, Leland Hester, Justin Dunaway, Johnaton Dunaway and Mason Dunaway; great-grandchildren, Adalynn Wheeler, Cooper Wheeler , Olivia Wheeler, Emelia McCormick and – Nolan McCormick; host of other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee Otis Stevens and Edna Rumsey Webb; son, Tim Patterson; daughter, Mary Jane Wheeler; siblings, Jimmy Stevens, William Henry Stevens, Freddie Wayne Stevens, Dick Stevens, Edna Lee Rumsey, Donna Chrisman and Edna Sue Stevens.
Pallbearers will be Justin Dunaway, Blake Hester, Leland Hester and Ray Dunaway.
Visitation will be at Waters Funeral Home on Saturday, September 14, 2024 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m.
