John Andrew “John A” Porter
Houston, MS- John A Porter, age 85, passed peacefully from his earthly home Saturday, October 12, 2024. He loved the rodeo and had his own rodeo pen, and he had a rodeo every year for the 4th of July. He always had a game for the kids. Later when team penning started, he would have practice and penning’s. It was a place where people could come and just have a great time. He was willing to help anyone he could and even after retirement he kept some of those cases on his mind.
John A loved playing softball and basketball. He played basketball in his high school days but even after his school years were over, he was still always ready for a game. He loved deer, rabbit, and pheasant hunting. He went to Kansas for many years to hunt. He loved playing jokes on people and just had a big love for life and laughter.
