Billy Wayne Cooper
Baldwyn- Billy “Bill” Wayne Cooper, 77, transitioned peacefully in his home on Saturday, November 16, 2024. Bill was born in Baldwyn, MS on September 20,1947 to Bilbo and Agnes Cooper. He will be remembered by his many accomplishments. Bill served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam War from 1968 – 1970. He received his Purple Heart and Commendation Medal before becoming honorably discharged. Bill retired from Mid-South Packers after 22 years, then went to own and operate Bill Cooper and Son’s Trucking Company where he officially retired in 1996. He enjoyed construction, hunting, fishing, eating and riding his motorcycle. He was a Baptist.
Funeral services will be at Waters Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at 2:00 p. m. with Bro. Neil Davis and Johnny Rakestraw officiating. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 55 years, Carolyn Bryan Cooper; two sons, Brad (Teresa) Cooper and Bryan (Aimi) Cooper; Bill’s grandchildren include Megan (Jordan) Mills, Andrea Witt, Lexi (Logan) Calley, Carleigh (Chandler) Knight, Brady Cooper, Ali Cooper and Mya Cooper; great-grandchildren, Laine Witt and Brently Mills; a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother and sister, Martha Dee Michaels.
Pallbearers include, Paul Bryan, Shohn Greer, Jeff Rowan, Phil Bramlett, Jeremy Kent, Jordan Mills, Logan Calley and Chandler Knight.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Duggar and Jimmy Rowan.
Visitation will be at Waters Funeral Home will be Monday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 p. m.
