Billie Frances Lindsey, age 89, was welcomed into her Heavenly home on November 26th, 2024. Born in Baldwyn, Mississippi, she was the daughter of the late Clara and Roy Garrison. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Francis Monroe Lindsey and her brother, Darryl Garrison of Mantachie.
Francis and Billie were married in 1954 and were married for 68 years. They had five children, ten grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. Billie Frances was baptized at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church where she attended as a young girl.
Billie was employed by Bassett Industries up until her retirement in 1996. Upon retirement, she joined her husband as entrepreneurs, showcasing their individual talents at various flea markets and artisan markets. Francis would sell his woodworking creations while Billie Frances would sell her baked homemade breads, cakes and pies. She was a gifted baker and cook. During those years, she was honored as the featured Cook of the Week in The Daily Journal. People from all over the community, near and far, would reach out to her for her infamous baked goods and she always happy to oblige.
Her hobbies included baking, sewing and gardening. She had a green thumb like no other. When visiting her, you would always be offered something to eat and a cutting off one of her many potted plants before you would leave her front porch. When she wasn’t baking or gardening, you would often find her sitting in her front porch rocking chair or painting her nails with the color of the week. Her nails were always her winning fashion statement!
She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and would always put the needs of her family before her own. Up until the very end, she was still asking about her kids and grandkids and making sure everyone was okay. Billie Frances will always be remembered as a selfless and kind, yet spunky, caring and devoted wife, Mother and Grandmother.
Billie Frances leaves behind three sons, Ricky Lindsey (Linda Cummings) of Baldwyn, Randy Lindsey (Chalone Mallett) and Rocky Lindsey (Teresa), both of Mantachie and her two daughters, Rhonda McCarley (Rodger) of Baldwyn and Regina Logan (Scott) of Statham, Georgia; Grandchildren, Phillip Lindsey (Amy), Michael Lindsey (Mylie), Amanda Underwood (Thomas), Kaitlin Comer (Jason), Cory Lindsey (Kristina), Justin Wiginton, Lindsey Dunn (Jesse), Summer Mocaby, Brady Logan and Bennett Logan; 10 great grandchildren; one sister, Barbara Gay Garrison Blaylock (Larry) of Saltillo and brother, Donnie Garrison of Dumas.
