Iris Jannett Patterson, of Houlka, passed away on December 9, 2024, at the age of 85. She was born on June 26, 1939, in Marks, Mississippi, and spent her life spreading joy and love throughout her community.
Iris was a dedicated member of Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church, where she shared her musical talents by playing the piano for worship services. Iris is survived by her son, Scott Patterson, and his wife, Phyllis of Houlka, MS; her daughter, Sonya, and husband, Jeff Stout of Pontotoc, MS; and her cherished grandchildren, Kara Lambert and Jessica Tienda. She also leaves behind a legacy of joy and laughter with her great-grandchildren: Allie, Caroline, Riley, Milo, Dhalia, Jami, Barrett, and Aubreigh.
Iris’s life will be celebrated with a public viewing on December 13, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow on December 14, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Sam Yarbrough and Bro. James Taylor officiating. She will be laid to rest in Poplar Springs Cemetery.
