Blake Lanier Marquis

Mr. Blake Lanier Marquis, 44, died Friday, December 13, 2024, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi. The funeral will be Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. Milton Whatley officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 9:00 A.M. Burial will follow the service in Abbeville Cemetery.

Blake was born on October 3, 1980, in Lafayette County, MS, to Linda Kay Colston Marquis and Larry Lanier Marquis. As part owner of Marquis Towing, he was known for his trustworthy and reliable service to the community. A native of Oxford, Blake was a graduate of The University of Mississippi, earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and Finance, and was an avid Ole Miss fan, never missing a game. He was a devout Christian, who focused daily on setting an example of faith for his daughter, Grace. Blake was a passionate outdoorsman, who looked forward to days spent fishing and vacations in Mountain View, Arkansas. He cherished the love and companionship of his dogs, Gabby and Ellie. Blake was preceded in death by his sister, Melissa Ann Marquis; grandparents, Jimmy and Betty Marquis and Bobby and Elizabeth Colston.

Blake is survived by his parents, Larry and Linda Marquis; daughter, Grace Marquis; son, Andrew Moore; and brother, Larry Lee Marquis and his wife, Jessica; all of Oxford, MS.
