MANTACHIE – A wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Clarice Younger died on December 14, 2024, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, of natural causes. She was 92. Born in Mantachie, Mississippi, on July 13, 1932, to Reverend Guy Graham and his wife Vivian, she grew up in Mantachie. She went to Blue Mountain College in Blue Mountain, Mississippi, and Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, where she met her husband of 67 years, Rev. Lynton Younger.
She and Lynton served churches in Texas, Washington, South Dakota, Mississippi, and Ohio. She made lifelong friends wherever she went. Those friends could count on birthday cards from her every year. She was a missionary, teacher, and bank teller, but the thing she loved most was being a pastor’s wife. She had the quality that made her the perfect one—the desire to serve God and others. Not a day went by that she didn’t read her Bible, pray for those in need, and make someone else’s day better. Many across the country are mourning, but there are many in Heaven who are rejoicing.
Clarice is survived by her sons Brett (Carol) of Brooklyn, NY, and Marshal (Stephanie) of Colorado Springs, CO; her six grandchildren, Graham, Bryn, Caleb, Paityn, Kristyn, and Cory; and her five great-grandchildren, Elias (9), Eden (8), Israel (4), Lincoln (3) and Ada (2).
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Graham, and sister, Hilma Joyce Davis.
Her funeral will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, December 27, at Lakeland Baptist Church, 5633 River Road, Mantachie, MS. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM Friday at the church. She will be laid to rest at Stephens Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.
