Lynn Ray Greene
Marietta- Lynn Ray Greene, 80, passed away at his home on Thursday, December 26, 2024. He was born June 19, 1944, to Herman and Vivian Williams Greene in Prentiss Co. He was a former warehouse manager for Marietta and Mantachie Mfg. and the
founder of Marietta Flea Mkt. He was baptized in 1964 and was a member of Marietta Church of Christ. Lynn was a past local board member of the Farmers and Merchants Bank in Marietta, He was a member of the Marietta Lions Club. In 1976, he was selected as an outstanding Young Man of America. On December 19, 2024 he and his wife, Sarah celebrated sixty years of marriage.
Services will be held at Waters Funeral Home on Friday, December 27, 2024 at 2:30 with Bro. Ronnie Livingston and Bro. Tony Brown officiating. Burial will be in Zion Rest Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah Farrar Greene of Marietta; two daughters, Sara Lynn Childers and husband, Barry of Fulton and Loretta Beasley of Booneville; three grandchildren, Austin Beasley (Allie), Kacie Morales (Matt) and Carly Faulkner (Will); two great-grandchildren, Piper and Parker Beasley; brother, William Greene of Dennis; sisters, Lou Della Thomas of Booneville and Patricia Hancock and husband Hal of Tupelo; several nieces and nephews; host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Nellie Simmonds, Rachel Rossi, Patsy Chapel, Joyce Barber, Louise Panis and Nancy Mortimer; brothers, J.W., Huey, Lamar and Jimmy Lane.
Lynn’s nephews, Mark Thomas, Hugh Greene, Malcom Greene, Jake Greene, Ricky Greene, Greg Hancock, Bobby Michael, Jeff Michael and Jim Barber will serve as his pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to the Marietta Church of Christ or Zion Rest Cemetery, c/o Farmers & Merchant’s Bank, Marietta, MS.
Visitation will be at Waters Funeral Home on Friday from noon until service time @2:30 p.m.
