Bobby Graham Moore

FLORENCE, AL/FULTON, MS – Bobby Graham Moore, 84, formerly of Fulton, died Friday, December 27, 2024, at Mitchell-Hollingsworth Rehabilitation Center in Florence, Alabama.  He was born June 22, 1940, in Fulton to Raymond and Ruth Imogene Graham Moore. Bobby received his Bachelor of Science and Master’s Degrees in Biochemistry at Mississippi State University and then completed his PhD in Microbiology at Auburn University. He worked at the University of Alabama for many years teaching and advising nursing and pre-med students.  He retired as an administrator for the University of Alabama-Birmingham School of Medicine, Huntsville Campus.  He was a long-time member of First Christian Church in Huntsville and then First Christian Church in Florence.  He served the church as an Elder, Deacon, Sunday school teacher, and on many committees.   He was also an active volunteer for the Salvation Army faithfully driving the Soup Van for many years.  He loved working in his yard and garden growing some of the most beautiful tomatoes, hostas, and zinnias.  Of all of his accomplishments, his wife, Janis, who was the love of his life, children and grandchildren brought him the most joy and pride.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 4, 2025, at First Christian Church, 700 N. Wood Ave., Florence, AL  35630.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM at the church.  A graveside service for family and friends will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday at Itawamba Memorial Gardens. McNeece-Morris Funeral Home of Fulton is entrusted with arrangements.

Survivors include one daughter, Stephanie Moore Wieseman (Kevin), both of Florence, AL; one son, Dr. Scott Alan Moore (Dawn) of San Antonio, TX; five grandchildren, Will Wieseman, Andy Wieseman, Carson Moore, Camden Moore, and Ella Moore; and one brother, Danny Raymond Moore of Germantown, TN.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janis; his parents; two sisters, Betty Jean Moore Cochran and Mary Jane Moore; and a brother, Harold Ray Moore.
